Rich Lang and Jonathan Kuhn founded LangKuhn in 2007. Friends with a mutual admiration for beautiful architecture, we've created a new kind of design-build company. Our vision? Streamline and simplify the design-build process while putting clients first. We take time to listen and always respect your input.
LangKuhn harnesses Jonathan's design and architectural expertise and Rich's building experience to deliver a range of design-build services, from residential new home construction, renovations, and additions, to commercial tenant fit-out and small-scale new construction.

The principal in charge of construction and project management at LangKuhn, Rich handles the entire construction process, from creating estimates and hiring subcontractors to coordinating deliveries and overseeing all construction work. 
Rich helps you navigate the construction process, communicating regularly about project status, challenges, and solutions. When you need to make decisions, Rich provides a list of options and guides you through them. When you have concerns, Rich listens and responds. He visualizes your project in 3D, understands your needs, and orchestrates everything to get the job done. For Rich, every project is a puzzle — and he puts the pieces together perfectly.
Before co-founding LangKuhn, Rich held senior positions at Berkshire Design Group, Cummings Property Management, and Niles Bolton & Associates. Most recently, Rich was the president and CEO of Richard Lang & Associates. He earned a B.A. in landscape architecture from the University of Massachusetts and an A.D. in architectural engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology. Rich is a licensed general contractor in Maryland and Washington, D.C. He lives in Arnold, Maryland, with his wife Lynn (LangKuhn's business manager) and their three children.
JONATHAN KUHN

As the principal spearheading architecture and design at LangKuhn, Jonathan translates your needs into high-quality designs that reflect who you are.
Jonathan believes that good design is personal. That's why he takes time to understand your lifestyle and priorities. If you talk about flowerbeds and brushing your teeth in a single meeting with Jonathan, don't be surprised. There's a method to Jonathan’s approach. He asks questions so that he can create a design that's both attractive and in sync with your life.
Before co-founding LangKuhn, Jonathan held senior positions at Ai (now Perkins + Will) and ColePrevost. Most recently, he was a vice president at Dickerson Construction and a principal at French Creek Homes, both subsidiaries of Wicomico Development Corporation. Jonathan received a B.A. in architectural studies from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.A. in architecture and construction management from Washington University. A registered architect in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, Jonathan lives in D.C. with his wife Anna, a non-profit executive.
